Player Lost £13,000 (and his mind) in an online Blackjack Game

6-5_Blackjack_Game_in_Las_Vegas_Strip_Casinos
Online gaming experience is so real one forgets he’s playing virtually!

An enterprising online Blackjack player decided to play “live” blackjack. He was probably aiming to hit the big time so he decided to video record his online blackjack play which was uploaded onto YouTube.

The video clip shows the online blackjack player counting his winnings amounting to £13,000. He won this money fair and square playing over previous games. He was on a roll! He was going to play higher stakes on another live blackjack game.

He points his browser on the online casino’s website and logs in and clicks all the right buttons to arrive at the virtual blackjack table with a real live dealer. The cocky young guy set the ball rolling, so to speak, by wagering £2,000 on a game of Blackjack.

His hand was 20! – just one number away from hitting a Blackjack. He was seen quite ecstatic as he can taste his winnings. Too bad though as the dealer showed his hand – a 21! He stood up from his PC, aghast and agitated. He was banging his chair loudly, twiddling his hair, and shrieking like a banshee at the ceiling.

Did he fold and cash in what is left of his bankroll? No. Like a true gamer, he threw in another £5000 to immediately lose it. This time his screams were worded: You’re ****ing kidding me! You’re kidding me!”

He is next shown pacing the room up and down as he bumped and bashed furniture, and in one breath shouted “Oh no. Please! Oh my God. Oh my God dude. What do you mean? F! F!”

He even went so far as explain to his viewers that he has lost about £10,500. Did he stop playing? No. He lost all that is left in a magnificently, humorous manner.

Uploaded to Youtube by an American Gamer, the clip has been watched close to 400,000 as of this writing this and you’ll understand why when you watch it all implode.

Playtech Adds 21+3 Blackjack Side Bet to Live Casinos

Betfair_Casino
Playtech, a leader in gaming technology, and service supplier to both live and online casinos, has partnered with Games Marketing to introduce a popular side bet to blackjack games to its live casinos. The 21+3 Blackjack side bet is a sure way to increase a player’s odds in winning each round of blackjack.

What is 21 +3 Blackjack?

The side bet is actually a combination of blackjack (21) and three-card Poker (+3). Thus 21+3 retains the strategies of a classic blackjack game and the elements of a three-card poker. This particular side bet has the potential to pay up to 100:1 on the original wager.

The cards are dealt in the traditional pattern of two up to every player and one up, one down to dealer. The player’s first two cards and the dealer’s up-card is the three-card poker hand. If the three–card combination forms a flush, straight, straight flush, three-of-a-kind or suite three-of-a-kind, the player wins the side bet. The rest of the game is played and paid as what is usual. Bets are independently placed making it possible for a player to win none, one or both bets.

Fantastic Side Bet Addition

Playtech is quite excited about this new and “fantastic” side bet addition to its partner live casinos. This step further nudged the company’s dedication to provide the “ultimate gaming experience to gamers.”

Playtech’s head of live casino innovation Kelvin Kilminster said that 21+3 side bet is one outstanding addition to live casino classic Blackjack game what with the added excitement of a three-card poker.

Kilminster is quite positive that 21+3 Blackjack will appeal to players who are familiar with the two card games, and to new players who have yet to try Blackjack. Playing a combination of Blackjack-Poker game is quite fun and rewarding, actually.

Blackjack Games at Mr Green Casino

blackjack_games_at_mr_green_casino

Founded in 2012, Mr. Green Casino has been offering online gamers the opportunity to play Blackjack and other casino table games online. Its line of Blackjack variants is quite extensive, as well as its offering of live Blackjack games.

6 in 1 Blackjack

This is an American variant wherein six standard decks of 52 cards (no jokers) are used, and are shuffled before every deal. The object of the game is to beat the dealer’s hand or the insurance of blackjack. Playing up to three boxes and placing 6 side bets on each of them is allowed. If the dealer hits a blackjack, the cards are not dealt on boxed. It is possible to make a Double on 9, 10 and 11. The Charlie rule applies.

21 + 3 Blackjack

This variant is a combination of two card games – Blackjack and Poker. It is a side bet based on the player’s first two cards and the up-card of the dealer. If the combination of the three cards forms a straight, flush, straight flush or three-of-a-kind, the lucky player wins.

Double Exposure

In this variant, the dealer gets 2 cards face-up. This deal is quite favorable to players as they get to see the dealer’s first two cards. When a player gets a natural blackjack, the payout is decreased to 3:2 to maintain the house edge. In case the dealer’s and player’s hands are tied, the player loses. Buying insurance and surrendering player’s hand are not allowed.

Perfect Pairs

This is an optional blackjack side bet which can be played at every hand should a player chooses to. To do this, a player bets at this option before being dealt. However as this is a side bet, a player had to make a standard wager too. The initial two cards dealt a player will tell if he gets a “perfect pair” or not. Similar-ranked cards (Q +Q) and same-color cards are good, but two identical cards equate to perfect pairs.

Other blackjack options offered at Mr. Green are: Live Blackjack, Buster Blackjack, Blackjack Live Extreme, PRO Series, PRO high-roller Series, Mr. Green Exclusive, and more!

Welcome Bonus

Players who sign up to play for real money get a 100% deposit bonus and 200 free spins. A 1st deposit match bonus of up to €100 in cash is offered for real-money players. Those who deposit and play at least €20 will be presented with 100 free spins on Mr. Green: Moonlight plus 5 free spins more each day for 20 days. Play online blackjack at Mr Green Casino Today!

More Online Blackjack Myths

25GPB Welcome Bonus
A previous blog post made about Blackjack myths dealt with three very common blackjack myths observed. Here are three more as there are actually quite a number of these myths “terrorizing” online gamers.

Myth 1 – Online casino blackjack games are rigged

There are those who believe that online casinos rig their software to let new signed-up players to win money on their first few games. This will ensure that new players are “hooked” into playing blackjack and could start betting higher. When this happens, it is said that a website admin triggers a switch to make the gamer play against a rigged deck. During a rigged deck game, the dealer gets either a 20 or 21. In fact, Online casinos’ blackjack house edge and use of Random Number Generators (RNG) software ensure that online blackjack games are not rigged.

In brick and mortar casinos and online casinos, decks or shuffles are regularly checked to ensure that the proper cards in play and that they are random. Where brick and mortar casinos have official inspectors checking the decks in play, online casinos are checked at random times by gaming authorities. Suffice to say, a brick and mortar blackjack player is more likely to encounter a rigged gamed than an online blackjack player.

Myth 2 -Online Dealers Cheat

Some say that online casinos can come up with any card that the dealer wants to win a game. They say that if a player gets a blackjack, the dealer can easily get a blackjack too. It is also possible for a dealer to get a 20 if a player gets a 19. In other words, a player will not win whatever he does as the house will always be on top no matter what.

The reality is that all decks can run cold or hot. It is therefore possible to experience a succession of losing hands as it is possible to have a succession of winning hands. Why would a live dealer cheat anyway? Doing so will totally jeopardize the online casino and their license.

Myth 3 – Online Casinos are Boring

It has been said that playing in online casinos is no fun – which website owners do not care about players that frequent their site. The fact that there are no famous gamblers playing in online blackjack, and no free food, drinks or accommodation afforded gamers make online blackjack less interesting and fun.

Free drinks and food are nice perks when one is playing in a brick and mortar casino. But, real gamblers play blackjack not for the freebies and perks but for the thrill of the game itself. Online gamers play online blackjack not for the free stuff but for the nonstop action and money making potential.

The Origination of Blackjack

The Origination of Blackjack
Blackjack is one of the most popular gambling games in the world. Whether you’re hitting the Vegas strip or you choose to play casino games at Royal Vegas, you’ll want to try the game out. While you can gain a lot of experience and have a lot of fun playing online at Royal Vegas, it won’t help you learn the history of the game. Blackjack is an older game than many might think, but it’s also a game that’s perfectly adapted for the modern era. In many ways, the history of Blackjack is a perfect encapsulation of the history of games – ancient in origin, but always evolving.

We don’t really know when blackjack was first played, nor from where it originated. We know, for example, that it eventually evolved out of a game that was referred to as ventiuna, or twenty-one. Twenty-one was much like the modern game, save for the fact that it was played with a Spanish deck that left out the eight and nine cards. Many elements of the game remain unchanged from that era, including the goal of hitting or coming in under twenty-one and the dual role of the ace as a one or as an eleven.

We do know for certain that ventiuna was played in Spanish speaking countries, both due to the etymology of the name and the fact that it was featured heavily in a story by Miguel de Cervantes. The dating of that story, published sometime in 1601 or 1602, tells us that the game probably originated no later than the end of the 16th century. Further sources let us know that the game would spread at least as far as France, with some likely variations in play due to regional variances. Even before making it to the United States, blackjack was a truly international game.

Twenty-one didn’t gain its new name until it hit the shores of the United States. To draw players to the table, dealers would offer bonuses for specific hands. The best offer was for a hand that consisted of an ace of spades and either a jack of spades or clubs. This hand, called the black jack, would become the popular shorthand for the game and would eventually become synonymous with the game itself even after the bonuses were discontinued. The term blackjack continues to refer to any ace/ten pairing in the hand, as well as the name of the game.

Blackjack has come quite a long way since it was introduced as a rather niche Spanish gambling game. It’s changed names, crossed oceans and even changed rules as it has grown in popularity. Today’s blackjack is a game of numbers, skill, and luck, and one of the most popular in any casino. Whether you want to gamble in the real world or take it online, there will always be a game waiting for you. While we can’t tell you how blackjack will change in the future, this much is certain – blackjack will continue to be a favorite of gamblers for years to come.

Matt Damon Crashes Aunt Chippy’s Blackjack Game

6-5_Blackjack_Game_in_Las_Vegas_Strip_Casinos
Jimmy Kimmel’s July 19th show was to be all about his very own blackjack-playing Aunt Chippy. Until Matt Damon showed up.

While Kimmel was at the studio, Aunt Chippy was at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas to play some serious blackjack for Kimmel’s studio audience. His aunt won $100,000 when she played for Kimmel’s studio audience way back. Chippy was supposed to be the lone player on the table but when the camera panned out, there sat Matt Damon disguised as a mullet-sporting, Ray-Ban dude.

When Jimmy saw Damon sitting comfortably with Aunt Chippy on the blackjack table, Kimmel quipped that Damon was not supposed to be there. Aunt Chippy chirped that if she had known Damon would be there, she would have shaved her legs.

Damon explained to Kimmel that he was in Las Vegas for the world premiere of his latest Jason Bourne saga. He said that he thought of dropping by the casino to actually play blackjack with Aunt Chippy.

Jimmy Kimmel resigned to the fact that Damon was there to play cards. So the game began. The sad truth was that Aunt Chippy lost all her money on the first round.

Kimmel was fuming mad and blamed Damon for the loss. He said that they no longer have money because Damon showed up and now they are left with nothing.

However, all was not lost as Damon said “Hang on. Wait a minute. Jimmy, I was thinking, you know. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen $10,000, but I personally like your studio audience a lot, and I feel like some of them like me.” He whipped his hand and gave Aunt Chippy the extra cash.

The dealer dealt the cards. Aunt Chippy’s bet of $10,000 won $20,000. Everyone was happy as the bet was doubled. Chippy chose to role the money and won $40,000. Kimmel actually said that in spite of Damon, they were actually winning. On the third deal, all of the money won went down the drain. No worries though as Matt Damon produced another $10,000 for Aunt Chippy. This time though, Chippy lost. And that was that!

Blackjack Game Goes South and a Player Robs a Bank

Lincoln Casino - $5,000 free casino bonus

I’ll be back in a Sec – just need to go rob a Bank.

Before we start, we feel the need to make the usual sort of disclaimers, being responsible and all that, that it’s not big and it’s not clever and gambling addiction is a serious illness. But with all that out the way, we challenge anyone reading this not to chuckle.

According to widely circulated reports from The Washington Post amongst other reputable sources, this week a Charleston man just could not accept that the juice had run out on a 5 hour plus Blackjack session and took the decision to go “direct to source” for funds replenishment. So the story goes, 52-year-old Kerry Johnson had been installed at a table at the Mardi Gras Casino in the small city of Nitro, West Virginia, since about 10 am on the morning of Wednesday 3rd August, when sometime after 3pm, with funds presumably running low, he vacated his seat leaving a $25 chip in place to hold his spot.

In the time between him returning to it, it is alleged Johnson visited the nearby City National Bank and turned the joint over, claiming, on a hand written note scribbled on a yellow legal (haha) pad to be armed with both a bomb and a gun (clearly never one wishing to feel underdressed for an occasion, Kerry).

In images from the bank’s security cameras, the man matching Johnson’s description with a white towel wrapped around his neck and wearing a red T-shirt and a dark hat with a gold “WV” — the logo for West Virginia University – left the bank with an undisclosed sum of cash before driving away in green Mazda Miata, the getaway car of choice for any respectable bank robber!

Shortly thereafter a man, definitely Johnson, returned to the blackjack table at The Mardi Gras, reclaimed his seat and continued playing.

After his arrest, Johnson reportedly told police he had a gambling problem. Not shit?? Sadly, for Kerry he also clearly has something of a basic intelligence problem to run alongside. After a tip off that a man matching Johnson’s image had recently bought a green Miata, Police visited his home and found the car parked outside. Inside the house they found, well you guessed it: a dark hat with a gold “WV” a suspiciously similar towel, legal pad and a sizeable amount of cash behind a cushion on the couch.

Unsurprisingly Johnson was charged there and then.

Brian Green uses Blackjack Winnings to Finish 5th for $1.1 Million in the WSOP One Drop High Roller

25GPB Welcome Bonus
Brian Green recently took fifth place in the $111,111.00 One Drop High Roller event at the recent 2016 World Series of Poker (WSOP). Green’s pot prize amounted to over $1.1 million!

Green did not have the required entry fee to join one of the toughest poker events of the year. He had to borrow $10,000 from another poker player in order to raise the entry fee. At the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, Green played a 10-hour session of blackjack. He played for five straight days without sleep so as not to break his winning streak. His winnings totaled to $113,000 which was more than enough to buy-in for the One Drop. On the first day of play at about 10 p.m., Green registered for One Drop.

Though he considers himself a non-PRO blackjack player, he claims to be a “big money gambler” ever since he became old enough to do so. He took to playing whatever there is and in the process became friends with Archie Karas, a legendary Las Vegas gambler and poker player. The poker community remembers Karas as the brilliant player who turned $50 into a whopping $40 million win in the 1990s. Though he eventually lost the millions, Karas is still remembered as one of the high stake rollers who played (and even won against) some of the best poker players in the world.
Some One Drop players hedged their bets to mitigate risks, but not Green. He bet his blackjack winnings for the buy-in. He admits that he is inclined to join high roller events as these suited him more. In the last 17 years of playing in poker tournaments, Green admits that he felt really excited with this event. He was quite hopeful to land in the top three when he made it to the final table of One Drop. He said it would have been nice to show his kids that he’s ranked third overall in Texas.

Brian Green’s wish of ranking third or first even would have been possible if only he played a hand differently. Green said that the fours hand was the biggest part of the tournament. He knew that his opponent’s hand had A-K and if he had made the call, would have gotten 30 million with some 90 million to play. Counting his chips, he was sure to have 7 million left even if made the call and lost.

I was pretty sure what he had based on how the hand was played. It was two million pre-flop and 1.3 million as a continuation bet. It seemed like A-K to me. The turn was the Q and he just ships it. I have been kicking myself in the ass all day for that. I thought about the call for six and a half minutes. The only reason I folded was because I asked him the stupid question ‘Will you show if I fold’ and he said ‘yes’ and I just mucked it. He showed A-K high. I’ve been beating myself up about it.

Green’s One Drop score places his name for the third time in the WSOP final tables. His first two came in 2001 and 2002. His recent winning sums up his total WSOP pot prize at $2.3 million.
