A student from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) has recently started another Blackjack variant that is now offered in casinos along the Strip.
Named Easy Jack, this variant was created by Matt Steam. The new variant naturally follows the basic Blackjack game, but a more simplified one.
Matt Steam’s variant Blackjack aims to get an 11 and not the usual 21. Players are dealt an initial card and not the usual two. And that basically sums up the Easy Jack Blackjack variant. The rest of the rules are based on the standard 21.
Hannah Casino, owned and operated by Caesar’s Entertainment is now offering the latest variant. On its trial run, the variant is scheduled to run until the end of 2017. Jerry Beans, Caesar’s vice president, said that it will be a breeze for someone to master the game. He said “With a game like this you can really sit down and jump into and be an expert at it pretty fast.” As of the latest survey, Bean claims that casino guests are immensely enjoying Easy Jack Blackjack.
At the facilities of UNLV’s Center for Gaming Innovation, Steam further developed the rules of the game. The center actually has a mock casino that serves as the laboratory classroom of game innovators. The main objective of the center is to help talented young minds to create, develop, and test new patents, new products, and new games. According to the executive director of the Center – Mark Yoseloff, the more interesting and fulfilling a game is, the more it will help the state of Nevada increase job opportunities and revenue.
The Gaming Control Board is now reviewing the Blackjack variant Easy Jack. Upon approval, Matt Steam will now be at liberty to lease out his patented Blackjack variant to any casino.
